Questions people ask
Do the codes expire?
Static codes never expire. The data is encoded in the pattern itself, so there is nothing to renew and no account to keep. Dynamic codes keep working for as long as the short link they point to stays active.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Static codes are built in your browser, so what you encode — including Wi-Fi passwords and contact details — never leaves your device. Only dynamic links store a destination and a scan count.
Can I use these codes commercially?
Yes, on packaging, signage, menus and products, with no licence fee and no watermark. For retail barcodes you still need your own number from GS1, which is a separate registration.
Which barcode format do I need?
Retail tills expect EAN-13 outside North America and UPC-A within it. Shipping and warehouse labels usually use Code 128 or ITF-14. For very small parts or larger payloads, use Data Matrix or PDF417.
Can I generate hundreds at once?
Yes. The bulk tools read a CSV or spreadsheet and produce one code per row, which suits event tickets, asset tags and product ranges. The file is read locally, so large lists stay private.
