Frequently asked questions

Is my Wi-Fi password sent anywhere?

No. The code is built in your browser and the password is encoded directly into the pattern. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

Does this work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Both read the WIFI: scheme natively from the camera app and offer to join the network.

Should I use my main network?

Use a separate guest network. Anyone who photographs the printed code can recover the password it contains, so keep your primary credentials off it.

My SSID has a semicolon or backslash. Will it work?

Yes. Those characters are escaped automatically when the code is built.
