Typing a long Wi-Fi password on a phone is error-prone. A Wi-Fi QR code encodes the network name, security type and password so a guest just scans and joins.
What it encodes
The code stores the SSID, the encryption type (usually WPA/WPA2) and the password. Nothing is sent to a server — modern phones read it and offer to connect.
Great places to use it
Print it on a café table tent, a hotel room card, an office reception sign or a home guest book. It keeps the password off-screen while still making access effortless.
Tips
Use a separate guest network so you never share your main password. Reprint the code whenever you rotate the password, and laminate high-traffic copies so they stay scannable.
